Museo civico Gaetano Filangieri

Despite the destruction caused to the Museum and its collection by Second World War
bombardment, visitors are still able to admire a vast and heterogeneous assortment of
artifacts which testify to the ample and varied culture of the prince.
In addiction to the pinacoteca, which hosts many pieces of work
by active neapolitan artists between '500 and '800, a conspicuous collection of applied arts, gowns, fabrics, oriental and european armouries, chinawares and a noticeable numismatic collection can be viewed.
Parchmens and manuscripts complete the patrimony of the library, which counts
around 15000 volumes of great value. The floor in the Agata hall,
representing the coats of arms and the initials of the Filangieri lineage
attest the strong bond established between the Museo civico and the A.I.M.
