Giovanni
Tesorone
Napoli 1845-Faenza
1913
Technical-scientific
manager of the Museum, great expert of ceramics, with specialties both
in the humanistic and scientific fields.
Many of the prizes awarded to the school are the result of his constant
approach to innovations and experimentations with colour, vernish, ceramics
and metals.
Tesorone focused his efforts on the creation of a collaborative link between
the various workshops which then led to the creation of Applied Art manufactured
articles. Contrasting himself with Palizzi's conception of a late XIX
century realism establishment, he related his efforts to the British model
of the Arts and Crafts movement and helped to create a more modern and
competitive industrial production.
